To join the international translation department, they wish to recruit a Spanish speaking Translation Proofreader. The language combination is Spanish mother tongue level + fluent English – this is essential.

Your role will include the following duties and responsibilities:

-Word-by-word checking of translations prepared by technical staff in English and Spanish
-Checking of typeset documents for correct layout and content
-Full word-for-word checking when required
-Following and complying with all procedures detailed in the Company Manual, Quality Manual and Operating Procedures Manual
-Assisting other Divisional staff with additional duties and responsibilities as and when required
-Adapting existing translations to conform to new versions of documents
-General office work relating to the finishing and dispatch of translations

CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

-Spanish to mother tongue level + fluency in English. German skills an advantage but not essential
-Educated to degree/university level in a language discipline
-Have an ability to work quickly and proof read from English into Spanish
-Good powers of concentration
-Excellent organisational and time management skills
-Ability to prioritise and multi-task
-Ability to work under pressure
-Experience of TRADOS is an advantage but not essential
